Why should I become a registered user?

There are many reasons for joining KPMG Institutes. As part of our online community, you'll be able to participate in Webcasts and online events covering today's most important topics; access premium content on topics and issues affecting your industry or organization; share your perspectives on critical business topics and industry issues; post comments about our content; rate the research you find here; and more.

 

How do I modify my profile?

After you have signed in to our site, click on "My Account" in the upper right hand corner. The Update Account page displays. Make the changes to your profile and select "Update Account" at the bottom of the page.

 

What if my email address changes?

If your email address changes you will have to create a new account. 

 

Is my user information private?

Yes. Any information you provide is strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone. Please review our privacy policy.

 

How do I inquire about information posted on this site?

Event Registration Questions

 

How do I register for a Webcast?

You can register for a Webcast by first signing in to our site and then going to the page on which the Webcast of interest is posted and click on the "Register for Webcast" button.  Once registered, you will receive a registration confirmation with instructions on how to access the event.

 

Do I need a different password every time I register for a Webcast?

No. The only password required is the one you use to log in to the KPMG Institutes site. Once signed in, you have access to register for any upcoming KPMG Institute Webcast.

 

Once I register for a Webcast, how do I access the event?

You can access the link to the event either through your confirmation email or directly via the event page on the website. Webcasts are accessible one hour prior to the start of the event.

 

Can I join a Webcast that is already in progress?

Yes. You can access the Webcast at any time during the live event. However, in order to receive CPE credit, you must be online for the entire event and answer the questions required for that event. You must answer at least three questions for events that qualify for one CPE credit, and at least six questions for events that qualify for two CPE credits.

 

Is there a fee for attending a Webcast?

No. There are no fees associated with KPMG Institute Webcasts.

 

Can I access a Webcast I missed or go back and listen again?

You can access On Demand Webcasts the same way you would if they were live. Simply go to the Webcasts, Podcasts and Events  page and select the Webcast you would like to view. Then click the "Play Webcast" button.

 

If I have a general question about a Webcast, who do I contact?

Technical Questions

 

What are the minimum system requirements to access the Webcasts?

In order to access a KPMG Institute Webcast you must have either Microsoft Windows® Media Player or Real Player® media player installed. Click on the links below to download the appropriate media player.

What are the Internet browser requirements?

Microsoft Internet Explorer® (IE) 6.0 or higher or Firefox® browsers for Windows® operating systems must be installed in order to access the Webcast.  IE8 users may need to change the "Navigate windows and frames across different domains setting" to "enable from its "disable default" setting.." Click on Tools, go to Internet Options and click on the Security Tab; click Custom Level button. Scroll down to where it says "Navigate windows and frames across different domains and enable the setting." Click OK.

 

Can I access a Webcast from a different computer than the one I registered from?

If you have already registered for the event, you can access the event from any computer. Simply log on to the KPMG Institutes website or access the link through your confirmation email. The link will be accessible one hour prior to the start of the live event.

 

How can I download the presentation slides?

You can download the Adobe Acrobat® PDF presentation file to your desktop from your media player prior to the start of the Webcast by clicking on the "Download Files" button.

 

How can I print out the presentation slides?

Once the presentation is downloaded, use your standard printing process.

 

What do I do if I have a problem advancing to the next slide?

Slides are advanced from the Webcast studio and will be advanced as appropriate. If your presentation is not advancing you may need to refresh your browser by pressing F5. If you are using Real Player® and a Windows®-based computer, you may need to view the Webcast using Windows Media Player® instead.

 

What if I lose the audio for the Webcast?

Shut down your browser and re-launch Internet Explorer®. If you continue to have problems with the audio, call the Help Desk on 1-800-208-0408. If you are located outside the U.S., call 1-601-956-4770, extension 230.

 

Is it possible to increase the volume?

Select the speaker icon in your system tray. Once you have opened the volume options, confirm that all sources are moved up to the highest point. If you continue to have problems, you may listen via the conference call option.

 

Can I synchronize the conference call audio and Webcast audio?

Unfortunately not. For technical reasons, there will be a 30-second Internet delay on Webcast audio.

 

The media player does not fit my screen.  What should I do?

Set your display resolution to 1024x768 by right clicking on your desktop and selecting Properties then click on the Settings tab. On the lower left side of the window is a sliding scale. Move the scale to a resolution setting of 1024x768. Click "Apply" and "OK."

 

What if the media player automatically stops or continually rebuffers?

Network congestion can occur at any time due to the following problems:

  • Connection to the Internet through a modem.
  • Access to a Webcast during peak Internet traffic hours.
  • Connection to the Internet from outside North America.
  • Heavy traffic on your company network.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Questions

 

What are the eligibility requirements to receive CPE credits?

To qualify for CPE credit offered through a KPMG Institute Webcast, you must:

  • Be present through the entire live Webcast - usually 60-100 minutes in length. (On-Demand webcasts do not qualify for CPE credit.)
  • Reside in the United States or be able to provide KPMG LLP with a valid email address to receive the applicable certificate

 

Can I qualify for CPE credit if I listen to the Webcast only on the phone?

No, you must participate in the live event and answer the polling questions in order to qualify for CPE credit.

 

Can I qualify for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits if I participate in a Webcast?

KPMG does not offer CLE credits. However, if the KPMG Institute Webcast is co-sponsored with a law firm, you can qualify for CLE credits from the law firm.

 

How many polling questions must I answer to qualify for CPE credit?

To qualify for CPE credit, you must be online for the entire event and answer the questions required for that event. You must answer at least four questions for events that qualify for one CPE credit, and at least eight questions for events that qualify for two CPE credits.

 

When will the polling questions start to appear?

The first question generally appears around five minutes after the Webcast has begun.

 

How can I disable my "pop-up" blocker to enable the polling questions?

Every pop-up blocker is different. In the Internet Explorer® "Tools" menu, select the "Pop-up Blocker" item. Check with your local information technology department to get the correct answer for your Internet browser/blocker.

 

I was not pre-registered for the event. Do I still qualify for CPE?

Yes. But you must log directly into the Webcast and provide your contact information, including name, company, and email address, in order to qualify for CPE credit.

 

Can I still qualify for CPE credit if I am from the United States but will be watching this Webcast from a location outside the United States?

Yes. However, you must also provide a valid email address to which we can send your certificate

 

When and how will I get my CPE certificate?

You will receive your CPE certificate via email in about six weeks from the date of the event. Most of our events are 60-100 minutes in length and will qualify you for one or two CPE credits.
